Thank you. YT has plenty of bass technique lessons. Just make sure you find what appears to suit you for the long term.
You can also go to bass-specific sites and forums, such as ActiveBass, Cyberfretbass etc.

@LePeppers90 Start VERY slow and fret a note with your left pointer finger and using whatever right hand technique you aim to improve on. Then fret the the next fret higher with your left middle finger and so on. It might help to do this at the 7th fret at first because you really have to stretch on the lower frets. Practicing this is super easy and does not require you to learn a song yet, and so you can do this as a total beginner. Just start really slow and be critical of making clear sounds.

@BassLessonsOnline I think youre technique is awesome and makes sense and i was wondering if you knew where i could find other left hand techniques at on the web that are free

A tip: Think “right and left TOGETHER”.

In the beginning it doesn’t appear to matter that much. However, as you progress, you will see how certain techniques will either aid or hinder your playing.

does it really matter how you play the bass with your left hand as long as youre getting the right sound for the note youre playing?

Excellent! Thanks for attending.

My structured step-by-step course (available through my website) addresses these issues precisely. One tip: Think left and right hands together.

i just got my bass a couple of days ago and my friend has been seaching me. i started using my fingers but i wasnt real quick with them and i couldnt get a good solid sound from it. he let me use his pick and it worked great, i am geting better at using my fingers but i have trouble cordinating the right frets with the right string. what advise can you give me for the pick vs fingers and cordinating the strings and frets

@BassLessonsOnline aah okay then. can you give me some kind of an idea how you play the first 4 frets? (just by a simple explanation)

There are two ways of lowering the strings.
1. The main adjustment is made on the bridge saddles.
2. The other adjustment happens “automatically” when you tighten the truss rod (which is best left to someone knowledgeable).
